The face of Bobbi Kristina Brown was immersed in water, a factor that - coupled with drug intoxication - led to to her 2015 death, according to a Georgia medical examiner's office.

Marijuana; alcohol; the cocaine byproduct benzoylecgonine; benzodiazepines, or medications for sedation or to treat anxiety; and morphine were found in Brown's system, the medical examiner's office said.

"The Fulton County Medical Examiner has not received a signed authorization from the court indicating whether we can release information and, if so, what type of information can be released", County officials said on its website Thursday. The star's daughter died at the age of 22 in a hospice on 26 July 2016. Ever since then, there has been speculation about her death. The report showed Bobbi Kristina Brown suffered brain damage. Even though the release of the autopsy report made this hard day even tougher for the late TV personality's family, her brother Landon Brown said the family's focus is celebrating Bobbi's life, TMZ.com reported.

"First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born".

Bobbi Kristina's mother, Whitney Houston died in a similar way.

When she died previous year, Bobbi Kristina Brown was buried at the Fairview cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey, next to her mother, where they now rest together. "Please pray for my family", her father, Bobby Brown, said in a statement released by his attorney.

The statement also said the autopsy alone could not reveal the underlying cause of death because of the long interval between Brown being found unresponsive in the bathtub and her eventual death.

Brown's estate has filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, alleging he beat her after an all-night "cocaine and drinking binge". She was discovered with her face submerges in a bathtub of water.

Immediately following the report's release, lawyers for Gordon sought to stress they are convinced it largely vindicates their client from any suspected wrongdoing and clearly illustrates that Bobbi Kristina was in the throes of an out-of-control drug addiction.
