The team's historic relocation to Los Angeles is expected to have a starring role in the show alongside Fisher, the team's fire-and-brimstone head coach, and explosive running back Todd Gurley, last season's Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Former NFL athlete Michael Sam is trending and an alleged "secret deal" made between the Rams and producers of the HBO series, Hard Knocks seems to be why.
Fisher said: "That in itself is absolutely absurd, it's 100% incorrect". It's insulting, from my standpoint, as it relates to Michael.
Defensive end Michael Sam #96 of the St. Louis Rams reacts during pregame workouts before his team met the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium on August 28, 2014 in Miami Gardens, Florida. Some say Sam was drafted based on his merit as an All-American and the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year during his senior year at the University of Missouri.
"I think this organization has a right to go through training camp with some normalcy". The fact of the story, which will of course be buried, is that contrary to being "so homophobic they wouldn't draft a gay player", the only reason why Michael Sam got drafted at all was because he was gay.
The "Hard Knocks" series, which is in its 11 season already, is popular among fans across the globe.
Jason Day tweaks back in victory at Match Play
On the opening day of the WGC Match Play Championship Rory McIlroy summoned the spirit of recovery which defines a champion. But last fall, Day withdrew from the pro-am at the Barclays due to a back injury before going on to win the tournament.
But Rams head coach Jeff Fisher claims the reports are false. It should be a fun season to watch, especially if the Rams improve enough to make the playoffs.
Sam, though, appears to give some credence to the report.
Sam responded to Wednesday's report on Twitter by saying, "I'm not surprised at all".
"From the moment it was announced the Rams would be returning to the Los Angeles market, this franchise felt like a natural for the next season of Hard Knocks", Ken Rodgers, coordinating producer, NFL Films, said in a statement. Sam has yet to play in the NFL; he is on the roster of the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes. But the Rams had 10 picks that year instead of the usual seven, so using one near the end of the draft on Sam was not giving up much.
In fact, in 2014, about two weeks after the draft and the selection of Sam, Fisher was asked about the possibility of the league picking the Rams for the TV show.
