Palestinians stab Israeli soldier, then are shot, killed

B'Tselem identified the man who was shot as Abed al-Fatah a-Sharif and the other as Ramzi al-Qasrawi.

Palestinian prime minister Rami al-Hamdallah said the video offered proof that Israeli soldiers "carry out field executions of Palestinians" and called for global protection of Palestinian civilians.

The database proposal, introduced by the Palestinian Authority and Arab states, also condemns Israel's settlements in the West Bank and calls on companies not to do business with them.

It shows the immediate aftermath of an attack in which an Israeli soldier was wounded by two Palestinian men.

IDF Spokesperson Moti Almoz has stated that following the incident the soldier had been detained and will remain in custody until the conclusion of the investigations being conducted by military police surrounding the shooting.

The Israeli defence minister, Moshe Yaalon, said his country would treat the shooting with "utmost severity " .

Footage filmed by a bystander moments after the attack and seen by Reuters showed one of the two assailants lying on the ground following the stabbing, barely moving.

She said some of the smoke reported came from a somewhat local grass fire near Bar-Dew Lake but the majority was from Kansas. Wednesday spread, forcing the Harvey County Sheriff's Office to evacuate the area of Burmac Rd. and 12th and 14th streets.

The incident on Thursday morning is latest example Israeli-Palestinian violence which has been escalating since October.

The Israeli regime is planning to confiscate 1.2 square kilometers (296.5 acres) of land from Palestinians in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, a local monitor says.

Alarmed by the database, the United Kingdom, the European Union and other Western countries have been applying pressure on Palestinian officials to remove the paragraph establishing the database of businesses involved in settlement activities.

The incident comes amid a six-month wave of Palestinian stabbings, shootings and car-ramming attacks that has killed 28 Israelis and two Americans.

Some 500,000 Israelis have settled in the West Bank and East Jerusalem among 2.4 million Palestinians, according to recent estimates.

Tensions have heightened in the occupied territories since August 2015, when Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds.

Michael Lynk, who is now an associate professor at the Faculty of Law at Western University in London, Ontario, will replace Indonesian diplomat Makarim Wibisono, who announced his resignation in January, citing Israel's refusal to grant him access to the West Bank and Gaza Strip as a factor in his decision.
