Prepare now for severe weather this spring

According to the OEM, tornadoes are common in Virginia, so people need to know what to do if a warning is issued for their area.

At 10 a.m. a test tornado watch will be activated for all counties in Iowa and Nebraska on the weather radio system.

The exercise activities should not interfere with normal NASA Langley operations or access to the center.

The drill is being conducted as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. This is separate from the National Weather Service, which sends alerts out over radio and television channels and some smart phones.
