Perhaps Rian Johnson will include a brief Han flashback, a message that Solo recorded before his death or even the funeral that never happened in The Force Awakens.
On Monday night, Harrison Ford stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where he talked about Han Solo in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and then next "Indiana Jones" film.
"I can? I'd do that", he said.
In the interview, Ford is not only unusually giddy, but weirdly cagey about whether his character will return to the franchise.
Chat show host Ellen DeGeneres show told him that a string of actors are keen to play Solo, to which Ford replied: "Really?" "'We're done with you, thanks very much'".

Speaking in a Q&A; via Entertainment Weekly's Tumblr account, Harrison said, "I think it's a fitting use of the character".
In addition to confirming his audition, Teller also dropped somewhat of a bomb with regards to his familiarity with the iconic sci-fi adventure franchise: prior to landing the audition, he hadn't actually seen any of the original Star Wars films. "If Ford is finally back as the character in the new trilogy, there's potential to confuse the pop-culture hive-mind by introducing an apparent reboot: Han Solo - again - but this time played by a younger actor in a different story".
Egerton, along with Eddie the Eagle costar Hugh Jackman, was a guest on The Jonathan Ross Show, where the young actor was asked to address the Han Solo casting rumors. Ford's wincing as he passed underneath the door referenced the actor's mishap on the set of Episode VII, when a hydraulic door on the Millennium Falcon set slammed down on him, leaving the 73-year-old with a shattered ankle.
"Kingsman" star Taron Egerton might not end up as Han Solo...
"It seems like everything is going swimmingly and you put in 25-30 years and then they just let you go!" he said.
A week ago today, Disney and LucasFilm made the announcement many fans had been waiting years for, confirming that Indiana Jones 5 is coming, setting a July 19, 2019 release date.
