When the app was first launched, the Chromecast name made sense because Chromecast was the only device that utilized it at the time, and Google had to do so some branding around that device, which has since proven pretty popular. There would be little impact on Google's revenues if after establishing Google Cast as a standard Google exited the $35 Chromecast business and left it to consumer product manufacturers.

Vizio's SmartCast app is installed on the tablet right out of the box and as such the remote control tablet can be considered a sort of "universal Cast app", according to Vizio. Vizio's P-Series displays start at $999.99 for the 50-inch model and are rolling out to Best Buy stores across the US.

Additionally, the new Vizio P-Series displays come with a P-Series Tablet Remote, which is basically an Android Lollipop tablet with a 6-inch 1920x1080 display, octa-core processor, stereo speakers, and 16GB of storage. But the real kicker of their 2016 P-series? It's fantastic, except for one thing: It's yet another thing you need to plug into your TV. If Google can provide the same live video listings, watchlists, and direct Cast functionality in its own app, it could be a major leap forward for the phone-as-remote concept.

A Vizio spokesman told us that Vizio SmartCast will support 4K streams from Netflix, YouTube, Vudu and UltraFlix, plus Vudu 4K content with Dolby Vision HDR, and Netflix HDR, when available. Just install any Chromecast-compatible app onto the slate, and then cast its contents to your P Series screen. Vizio supplies a charging dock. Menu information, including the list of available shows, appears on the tablet rather than the television screen.

Looks Like There Will Be A Rematch For McGregor And Diaz
McGregor ended Aldo's five-year reign as champion when he knocked him out in just 13 seconds at UFC 194 on December 12. It's a perplexing, out-of-left-field fight that nobody involved was publicly considering a possibility.

The Smartcast P-Series displays offer 4K picture and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, two features that have been already implemented in the latest and more expensive TVs, presented by giants such as Samsung, LG and Sony.

Color gamut: The new TVs feature a wide color gamut of around 96 percent of the P3 color space and around 72 percent of the Rec. 2020 color gamut. The 65-inch and 75-inch models cost $1,999 and $3,799 respectively. In many applications, full array back lighting produces richer colors. The 50-inch variant comes with 120Hz refresh rate and 126 zones of local dimming and is priced at $1,000. Higher native refresh rates generally produce the least amount of motion blur and other motion-related artifacts.

They say you can't trust everything you read on the internet. The P-series and it's whizzbang tablet will be available starting today.
