- The Georgia Bulldogs landed a massive commit on Thursday when one of the nation's top 2017 quarterback prospects, Jake Fromm, gave his pledge to Kirby Smart's staff.

As recent as December it didn't seem like Georgia would be able to pry Fromm away from Alabama. I want to thank Coach Saban for giving me the opportunity to go play football at Alabama.

Georgia's football team was no match for Alabama in October, but the Bulldogs have scored a March victory over the Crimson Tide.

"I am ready to start my journey as a Dawg and help them in the recruiting process", he said. "I love Alabama so much".

"It is awesome, what a great chance to be home and play in front of your home state", Fromm said.

Finally, this should have no impact on the way customers use Sports Authority credit cards or pay bills. However, some argue that the possibility of Sports Authority shutting down has been a long time coming.

"It was very tough, decommitting was not something I wanted to do, it was not something I thought I would ever do", he said.

The decision to decommit from Alabama weighed on Fromm. "Go Dawgs!" Alabama is now without a quarterback in its 2017 recruiting class, though there's still ages before National Signing Day rolls around.

Fromm's addition is huge for a Georgia program that's thin at the quarterback position in terms of numbers.

Fromm (6-3, 220) now attends Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. As for UGA, Smart had already made a big splash by locking down 5-star quarterback Jacob Eason, who enrolled early in the 2016 cycle.

Fromm is coming off a phenomenal season in which he led the Houston County Bears to the state quarterfinals. In 13 games, Fromm threw for 4,099 yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions. For the 2016 season, only three quarterbacks with scholarships will be on the roster, and one of those will be rising-senior Greyson Lambert.
