The Indian Premiere League (IPL) of Tuesday released the list of the final shortlist of player who will go under the hammer at the players auctions set to be underway on 20 February. The original number of 799 players was brought down to 351 after the teams submitted their preferences.

The list, circulated by IPL authorities to all the team managements and accessed by The Hindu, features 122 Indians, including 23 capped players. Also with a base price for them that is low, the franchises will surely be interested in them, which again augurs well for the prosperity of cricket. Mohammad Shahzad and Rashid Khan have gone on to list themselves at the highest base price at INR 50 lakh.

Morgan, Stokes and fast bowler Chris Woakes are part of the list of marquee players who have listed the maximum base price of INR 2 crore (approx United States $298,000) for the auction. He has kept his base price at Rs 30 lakh.

Irfan stressed that his low base price was aimed exclusively at earning an opportunity to play.

"I don't look at IPL just to make money".
