Susan Gretkowski, a lobbyist for MVP Health Care, a major insurer in Vermont and NY, said the company hired a lobbying firm in Washington to keep up to date on what is going on with the Affordable Care Act.

Some insurers have said that the health care expenses for the customers they're gaining through the exchanges has far exceeded the health insurance premiums those customers are paying.

The problem that Republicans now face is making a seamless and painless transition from Obamacare to a patient-oriented system.

Republicans must offer reasonable alternatives to people who might lose their health insurance when Obamacare is repealed.

Bertolini hinted that Aetna may follow insurance giant Humana, which said Tuesday it was dropping out of the ACA exchanges altogether because not enough healthy people are buying insurance.

The Trump administration has been mulling changes to stabilize the individual markets since the beginning of the month, and the content of two draft rules leaked last week.
