Officers say the arrest took place around 9:30 p.m., just hours after the Steelers' 30-12 victory over the Dolphins in the opening round of the National Football League playoffs. Pending further review, Joey Porter has been placed on leave.

The most serious charges filed against Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter after a South Side scuffle likely will be withdrawn, Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. said Thursday.

Per Ed Bouchette of the Pittsbugh Post-Gazette, Porter is now charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, both summary charges.

Mayer to Leave 'Altaba' if VZ Sale Happens
Also leaving the board of directors if the sale goes through are chairman Maynard Webb and three others with ties to the company. There is some doubt, however, about whether that deal will go through due to a sizable Yahoo hack announced last month.

How have the Steelers handled the situation as a team and will it be a distraction moving forward. I didn't do anything", or, "You're lying! Porter's grasp was so strong and he was holding my wrists so tightly that I could not pull them away from him, no matter how hard I tried. Porter then allegedly ignored the Officer Abel's questions and lunged at the doorman.

Acting police Chief Scott Schubert earlier this week defended Abel's decision to charge Porter, saying video the chief reviewed showed that Abel's account of what happened was accurate and he conducted himself in the professional manner.

The "chatter" Pittinger hopes to address stems from Porter's reputation as a "hot head", she said, and his high profile as a Steelers coach and former star player. The independent Citizen Police Review Board said that it is also reviewing the arrest in hopes of helping people "discern facts from speculation".
