Trinamool Congress has alleged that the Centre's BJP government was carrying out the politics of vendetta because of its campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation policy. Later, after the violent outburst died down, TMCCP supporters took part is a sit down demonstration to protest BJP's attempt to politically use the CBI to arrest their leader.

As per the sources that CBI found that Bandopadhyay took favours from Rose Valley, such as foreign trips and receipt of hefty amount of money.

Mr Bandyopadhyay is the second close aide of Trinamool chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to be arrested in the last week.

"Amit Shah to Narendra Modi, all should be arrested". She said on Twitter that the Centre was "vindictive" and that the nation had been launched into a state of "full-fledged emergency".
