Former world number one Tiger Woods said on Thursday (AEDT) that he still has no timetable for returning to competitive golf but that elements of his once-mighty game have returned.

"The loser has to do push-ups", Woods wrote on his website.

"While Woods said he is improving, the victor of 14 majors and 79 Tour events remains a long shot to play in the Masters in April, where he has won four green jackets", USA Today Sports reported.

The shot heard round the links happened on Wednesday during the opening of a course designed by Woods.

Jason Day has seen better days. Doral hasn't been overly kind to any of them.

This year he was 10th in Hawaii, but 15 strokes behind victor Jordan Spieth, missed the cut in his title defence at Torrey Pines while struggling with illness before being T11 at Pebble Beach. It's their first time being in the same tournament since September.

Woods has since posted a video of himself playing virtual golf, demonstrating a full range of motion in the short clip.

Van Gaal impressed by youthful Manchester United
I give them 20 minutes and then 50 minutes and 70 minutes and I have to do that within Premier League matches. But despite Mata's recklessness with the challenge on Fletcher, Van Gaal refused to condemn the Spaniard.

Tiger who spent the whole day at Bluejack, which is found in Montgomery, Texas, spoke about how the course is coming along and the fact he is still rehabbing form his latest back surgery.

"This was meant more for all of Tiger's fans who had reached out since all of this erroneous reporting came out over the weekend that he was so disabled he had to sit in the passenger seat of a auto", Steinberg told ESPN. "I just need to keep that momentum going".

Last week Woods attended a Ryder Cup dinner with almost 40 American players at Jack Nicklaus' house in South Florida.

"I don't really know [how I'll know when I'm ready]", said Woods.

How's that for a first (only?) day of hooky? He said the conversation lasted about 50 minutes.

"Every time that I talk to him, it's just every time it comes up, it's mind-set, mental toughness, effort". "It didn't matter how bad it was". He just needs to block out all the noise and get back to playing his game, which everyone saw a year ago is as good as any player on tour.
